کابل محافظ هوایی فیبرنوری (OPGW)
کابل OPGW، سیم محافظ هوایی حاوی فیبر نوری است که در خطوط انتقال انرژی به منظور محافظت سیم فاز در برابر جریان های لحظه ای صاعقه در بالاترین نقطه دکل استفاده می شود.
در تولید و طراحی کابل های OPGW می توان از فیبرهای Single Mode و یا Multi Mode استفاده نمود. فیبرهای Single Mode در مسافت های بالاتر از یک کیلومتر با پهنای باند بالا و فیبرهای Multi Mode در مسافت های کمتر از یک کیلومتر با پهنای باند کمتر، مورد استفاده قرار می گیرند.

There are two main types of single-mode optical fibers. The first model, which is the older generation, is known as SMF. The optimal performance of SMF is in the bandwidth of 1310 and the spectrum of 1550 (bandwidth between 1565 and 1625) nm. It has less dispersion in the 1310 nm bandwidth. This cable is used for long routes, big cities, cable television, intelligent traffic control and communication.
The more advanced generation is NZDSF, which is designed for DWDM equipment. This generation in the bandwidth between 1530 and 1625 nm has much less dispersion compared to SMF.
